Photo a day.....January 9th
Here is the view in the other direction from Culver Down. This is Sandown Bay. You can see the pier quite well.
We have often fished from the end of this pier...but prefer it in the week when it isn't so busy as the funfair at the far end plays awful music.... thoroughly spoiling the tranquility.
At the beginning of the pier is a cafe, long and thin, which has a doughnut machine which you can watch as it fries the doughnuts and finally drains them and drops them into the sugar. We usually have a bag of these when fishing.....although we haven't been for a while now......hope it is still open!

I never realised the Isle of Wight was so hilly!!
Brilliant - I really must pay a visit and visit your allotment too!
We live at the top of a 1 in 7 hill. And the road through the middle of the Island with views north and south is like a switchback.
We had visitors to stay from Germany who had the idea that we lived on a sort of sandbank! They were delightfully surprised.
Lottie....if you do you must drop in for a cuppa!
What a beautiful place.
I'm not fussed about fishing, I must admit, but I could be persuaded if I got to take a bag of doughnuts...!
Its so beautiful and Green!!
