Photo a day.....2 .
I wanted to do a fresh photo on my dog walk today but forgot the camera! So I thought you might be interested in the view of the Fort Walk from the shore.

I replied on my own blog but so you know, the cup is two and a half inches tall, and the saucer is four and a half inches across.
BTW, when I went to your profile page just now I saw that your favourite book is Flora Thompson's Larkrise to Candleford. It is one of my faves too. I read it every year ,and have done so since I bought it in Worcs in 1992..!

That must be an amazing walk - what date in August does it happen?
We went to the IOW for a holiday at the beginning of November and were fascinated by the forts! Do you have any photos of them up close?

We can't predict the date because it is to do with the tides. Best way to find out is to either get a tide table and then find the lowest tide that month. It will be sure to be the nearest weekend to that. They don't advertise it because there is no insurance. We suddenly hear by word of mouth and all get down there.....the sea waits for no one!
You could actually visit one of them for a while about 15 years ago. We went on a boat trip from Cowes. I have some amazing photos of that one inside. It is still preserved as a Victorian Garrison.

I do have some more photos of the outside of the one we walked round.....I'll post one for you now....it'll appear under today's date.

Blogger won't accept any photos from me now so I've e-mailed them to you.
If you google Spit Bank Fort you'll get a website about the one we visited. You can go there for meals even now and look round the fort while you're there.
