Photo a day....7th March

On our recent holiday we stayed for part of the time with friends in Florida. They are bird and animal lovers and their garden is supplied with feeders which the local wildlife frequent. If the feeder which the squirrels use is empty they "hint" for it to be filled!!!!! This one is hanging on the screen which covers the patio doors. Cheeky so-and-so!

Here on the Isle of Wight we only have red squirrels. I see them frequently when walking the dogs, but have never photographed one as close as this.

If we spot a grey suirrel on the island we have to inform the authorities as if they get a toehold they will cause the red squirrels to become extinct here as they are in most of England.
